What started as a winter pop-up has become a permanent part of Aluel Cellars — and one of Ballard’s most unique places to discover wine.

Après by Aluel is a Ballard wine bar, tasting room and bottle shop built around exploration. Instead of pouring the same list all year, we travel through different wine regions and countries, bringing in new bottles, new grapes and new stories to discover.

And our newest journey is one we’ve been waiting years to bring back. 🌎🍇

Mexican wine has arrived at Après by Aluel!

Through September 27, we’re turning our attention south to one of the most exciting and evolving wine regions in North America.

Long before Après existed — and before the pandemic — Aluel Cellars regularly partnered with the Mexican Consulate in Seattle for special tastings comparing Mexican wines side-by-side with wines from Washington State.

✨ Those events sold out year after year.

They introduced many of our guests to Mexican wine for the very first time, and we’ve wanted to bring that experience back ever since.

Now, after all these years, we finally get to do it. 🥂

We’ve brought together a lineup that showcases just how diverse and exciting Mexican winemaking can be, and we can’t wait to introduce these wines to Seattle again.

Our current selection explores wines from Mexican producers working with both familiar and unexpected grape varieties.
