What started as a winter pop-up turned into something much bigger.
Après by Aluel was so busy, lively, and loved that we decided to keep it going. Instead of closing after the Olympics, the concept is now a permanent part of Aluel Cellars.

A Rotating Wine Bar Exploring the World
Après by Aluel is more than just a wine bar — it’s an ongoing wine tour.
Instead of a fixed list, we explore different wine regions from around the world, rotating them throughout the year. The concept changes gradually, just like the seasons, giving you new wines and new discoveries every time you visit.

Après by Aluel also continues to grow as a Ballard bottle shop, with an expanding selection of wines available for purchase. Many of the wines featured on the menu can also be taken home, making it a great place to discover something unique for dinner, a gathering, or your cellar.

Wine Tasting in Seattle — But More Fun
Unlike traditional tastings, Après is casual and constantly changing.
One visit you might discover a fresh, mineral-driven Portuguese white. Another night you may fall in love with a beautifully aged fortified wine or a sparkling Vinho Verde you didn’t know existed.
That sense of discovery is what makes the space exciting — even for regulars.
And yes, there will always be great wines open.
